About Project

CLINT:

Clint Momtaz Mansur Chowdhury, a lovely person and director of Finlay Company (TEA), expressed his desire to have a small piece of land, only 5 katha, in Baridhara and to build a villa with a ground floor and spacious inside.

DESIGN CONCEPT:

Usually in a one-unit residence or villa, space is provided according to function on different floors or levels. One cannot see or feel the activities of another floor.

So, I have to create space upon space so one can see and feel total space and activities of other spaces and other floors.

FUNCTIONS UPON FUNCTIONS:

Ground floor porch garage for two cars. Servant and kitchen entry separated. From the entry lobby to the hall room core of the house. From hall room one can see and feel the total space and activities of the house. The first floor has a family lounge attached to 3 bedrooms with attached toilets. Second-floor space for a studio and a rooftop swimming pool. Overhead water tank above the stairs.

SPACE UPON SPACE:

I have created space with a space. Slop roof from the hall room began its journey from the 9’ level up to 2nd floor roof, capturing the activities and functions of other floors.

Due to the sharp slope, the roof is created on its way, especially in 2n floor a space for a studio. At the end of the journey, a rooftop swimming pool looks like it is in from the roof. At that time rooftop swimming pools were very rare. An umbrella-type shed with light materials comes in the semi-portion of the swimming pool. The achievement that one could feel. The total space and activities at the villa create space upon space.
